Deji V. Fashemo, DDS, MPH
Dr. Deji Fashemo received his dental degree from the School of Dentistry at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and a Certificate of Advanced Education in General Dentistry from the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center, Rochester, New York. He was subsequently admitted into the highly coveted specialty program in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at the same institution, where he trained under the esteemed Dr. J. Daniel Subtelny. While in Rochester, Dr. Fashemo also received advanced training in public health and clinical research at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, culminating in the award of the degree of Master of Public Health in Clinical Investigation and Research. He then proceeded to the Indiana University School of Dentistry/Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, for fellowship training in craniofacial-cleft and surgical orthodontics. Following his sub-specialty fellowship training, he was recruited to pioneer the establishment of South Texas’ first hospital-based surgical and craniofacial orthodontics practice at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi. As the overall craniofacial center and service grew, Dr. Fashemo was subsequently appointed as medical director, a role he fulfilled in addition to his very active clinical orthodontic practice.
Dr. Fashemo is excited to continue his professional career in the Dallas area, having been actively recruited to relocate and establish a private orthodontic practice to support the craniofacial anomalies program based at Medical City Dallas Hospital while also serving as the Medical Director of Craniofacial Orthodontics at the same hospital. This new office (Fourth Dimension Orthodontics & Craniofacial Orthopedics) is now open for business and currently accepting new orthodontic patients.
Dr. Fashemo’s professional interests include general orthodontics; treatment of malocclusions and abnormalities in jaw development; comprehensive orthodontic care for the pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients; and surgical orthodontic treatment of cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial anomalies. Patients with developmental disabilities as well as medically-compromised patients will also be cared for in Dr. Fashemo’s practice. In addition, Dr. Fashemo is proficient in the technique of pre-surgical nasoalveolar molding (PNAM) for newborns with cleft lip and palate, and will make this service available as well. Dr. Fashemo will focus his Dallas, Texas, practice on the full spectrum of conditions treated by specialists in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics as recognized by the American Dental Association, utilizing the latest technologies in orthodontic braces.
Dr. Fashemo believes that it is a privilege to engage in the professional practice of orthodontics and takes the doctor-patient relationship very seriously. His overall practice philosophy reflects his belief that every relationship is special and must be cultivated.
Dr. Fashemo maintains active memberships in several professional organizations, including The American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, The American Association of Orthodontics, The Southwest Society of Orthodontists, The American Dental Association, The Texas Dental Association, The Dallas County Dental Society, The Academy of Osseointegration, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. While not fixing teeth, jaws, and faces with braces, or spending time with his wife and daughters, Dr. Fashemo enjoys playing soccer.
